Mary J. Blige Announces New Talk Show
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is starting a new talk show. Mary J. Blige’s The Wine Down has been picked up by BET.
In the teaser for The Wine Down, Blige explains that creating talk show has always been a goal of hers. “You all know me as Mary the entertainer but I can’t wait for you to get to know Mary the friend,” she said.
She added, “I always wanted to do a show that’s about me hanging out with people who I love, respect, and admire.”
Mary already has an impressive celebrity line-up. In the trailer, you see her sitting down with 50 Cent asking the Power creator, “Is anything off limits?”
The Wine Down has already hinted at having guests Taraji P. Henson, and Young Miami in the trailer.
The New York native already has had a pleasant start to the New Year as she earned six nominations at the 2023 Grammys. Her 19-track album Good Morning Gorgeous was nominated for Best R&B Album, and Album Of The Year. The title track earned a nomination for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Record Of The Year. These were her first nominations since 2007.
