Beloved Michigan Haunted Attraction Permanently Closes
A beloved Michigan haunted attraction has announced that it’s closing, so you won’t be able to get spooked there this season. It’s always a sad thing when a local establishment closes its door, but I think that it’s even more the case when it’s a local haunt, because local haunted houses and attractions often thrive during the fall months. What’s more surprising is that last year, tickets to this haunted attraction even sold out.
Farewell to a Beloved Michigan Haunted Attraction
Ghostly Grave on Schell Family Farm in Pickney, Michigan, is closing. The Michigan haunted attraction took to their socials on September 14 to announce the news, stating, “Ghostly Grove would like to thank all our customers who came out and supported us the last five years. It has been our pleasure to create a haunted attraction that brought out your screams and made your nightmares come to life.”
They added, “Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, the decision to close Ghostly Grove has been made. We are very sorry and are disappointed that this decision became necessary. Please know your patronage and time spent at our haunt means everything to us and unless we could give you our 110% effort then we would be doing you and ourselves a grave disservice. We hope you enjoy your 2024 Halloween season and visit many of the fantastic haunted attractions here in Michigan.”
The Michigan haunted attraction, which offered “spine-chilling trail of fright,” was located at 10055 Dexter Pinckney Road in Pinckney. According to a social post from the haunted attraction on Oct. 29 of last year, the haunt sold out its final tickets for the season. “We are sold out tonight,” they wrote. “Thank you for an amazing season here at Ghostly Grove! We hope to see you back in 2024. Happy Halloween.”
So, that’s sad news, but hopefully one day, Ghostly Grove will resurrect. They imply this is a permanent closure but not mentioning anything about the future, but you never know. Of course, Halloween is filled with fun activities, so you should be able to find another haunt to enjoy this season. I always love going to haunted houses during the fall months, but some of them can be too terrifying for me. That’s why outdoor haunts such as Ghostly Grove were always better for me. I don’t get as scared outside as I do in an enclosed haunted house. Contact me with your favorite Michigan haunts to visit every season. Also, note that Schell Family Farm is still offering U-pick apples, sweet corn and more during regular hours.
