Usain Bolt Encourages Sha’Carri Richardson To ‘Talk Less’ & ‘Train More’
Eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is giving Sha’Carri Richardson some advice to take on and off the track.
Bolt recently talked to the New York Post about his thoughts on Richardson who has gotten in some trouble lately for her antics on social media.
“I would tell Sha’Carri to train harder and to be focused and not say too much … If you talk that big talk you have to back it up,” the gold medalist told The Post. “So just train hard and focus on that and try to come back do it and then talk about it.”
Last month, Richardson returned to the track to face off the Jamaican women’s Olympic team and came in last place in the 100-meter dash.
Prior to the race, Richardson posted a video on her Instagram with a Nicki Minaj voiceover from a viral TikTok meme saying “I took some time off to rest and now it’s game time, b——. You have no idea!”
Bolt, who is also Jamaican said that the women’s Jamaican Olympic team did not take Richardson’s insults lightly and her trash-talking pumped them up.
“Jamaicans were vexed because she was talking a lot of s–t before the actual race, it is just one of those things,” he said. “Jamaicans don’t like when people talk s–t about us because we are a very proud people. So if you talk about us we are gonna want you to back it up. It definitely gave those women the extra push [to win.]”
Do you think Sha’Carri should take Usain’s advice?
