Many people are excited about the total solar eclipse taking place on April 8. In celebration of the astronomical event, the fast-food chain Burger King is offering BOGO Whoppers.

So, while the eclipse itself will only last a short four minutes in certain cities, Burger King's deal will keep going all day long. But here's the catch: It's exclusively for Royal Perk members. Just send a text saying ECLIPSE to 251251, and you're in for a buy-one-get-one deal, available through April 15 on the app or BK.com. If you're not a rewards member, you can still sign up and join by downloading the app to be eligible for the deal.

Now, if you need a quick refresher, solar eclipses happen when the sun, moon, and Earth decide to line up just right, casting a shadow on our planet and either partially or fully blocking out the Sun's rays in certain areas. NASA has a map showing where the social eclipse action will be on April 8, including cities in the path of totality.

BOGO and free Whoppers are not a new concept for Burger King. PEOPLE reported that in February, Burger King responded to Wendy's "dynamic pricing" announcement with three days of free Whoppers. The not-so-subtle shade came after Wendy's announced that they would be implementing "dynamic pricing" in 2025

"We don’t believe in charging guests more when they’re hungry," Burger King wrote in a press release. "Surge pricing? Well, that’s new. Good thing the only thing surging at BK is our flame!"

Other food businesses are joining in on the total solar eclipse fun too. Applebee's is currently featuring the Perfect Eclipse Margarita until April 14. This drink blends Patron Premium Silver Blanco Tequila and Citronge Orange Liqueur, enhanced with Monin Blue Raspberry, Passion Fruit, and a splash of lemon and lime.

Pizza Hut is providing large pizzas for only $12. This special deal applies to both create-your-own pizzas (with up to 10 toppings) and recipe pizzas, including Thin ‘N Crispy, Hand Tossed Pizza, and Original Pan Pizza. The offer is available for carryout, dine-in, and delivery orders.

Sonic Drive-In is introducing the Blackout Slush Float, available until May 5. This slush, with its black hue, offers a blend of cotton candy and dragon fruit flavors. Plus, each order includes a pair of eclipse safety glasses. Sonic locations along the path of totality will even host drive-in viewing parties for the eclipse.

The next total solar eclipse will not occur for another 20 years.
