Don Cheadle attends 'No Sudden Move' during 2021 Tribeca Festival at The Battery on June 18, 2021 in New York City.

Don Cheadle’s Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series for his role as Colonel James Rhodes/War Machine in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier seems to have gotten some hate online.

The actor took to Twitter to address his Emmy nom in episode “New World Order” of the Disney Plus series writing, “thanks, well wishers. sorry, haters. agreed, 🤷🏿‍♂️ers. i don’t really get it either. buuuuuuuuuut on we go …”

One fan wrote, “DESERVED THOUGH” in response to the Hotel Rwanda actor’s tweet.

One person tried to mock Cheadle’s nomination, urging him to “step down and make a spot for someone that did a bit more,” to which another user pointed out, “Tell me you don’t understand award nominations without saying you don’t understand award nominations” to the guest appearance category.

56-year-old Cheadle slammed the above Twitter user writing, “step down?!? you really don’t know how this emmy thing works, huh?”
