BRAINERD, MN - JANUARY 26: Terry Schwichtenberg prepares to weigh a walleye he caught at the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza fishing tournament on Gull Lake January 26, 2008 in Brainerd, Minnesota. The fish which weighed 5.34 pounds won the tournament and a new Ford pickup truck for Schwichtenberg. The tournament, billed as the world's largest ice fishing competition, attracted over 10,000 participants who competed for $150,000 in prizes. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will jaw tag 3,000 walleye in several Saginaw Bay tributary rivers starting Wednesday (March 30).
To assist with data collection, anglers are asked to report tagged fish. The DNR is asking for the species, length, weight (if known), tag location (where the tag was attached), ID number, tag return address, as well as the capture date and location.
Also include the time of capture and sex of fish, if you know it, in the notes box of the form. For more information, go here.
