Eminem Posts a Special Message to Matthew Stafford
Slim Shady is a huge Detroit Lions fan. If you don’t know this, then I have no words. Now, Eminem is taking to social media to send former Detroit Lions and current Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford a special message. When Eminem posts a special message like this, you have to give it your full attention.
To take some lyrics from Eminem’s famed “Lose Yourself” song, the Lions have “one shot” to make it to the final round of the playoffs. They have to get through Stafford and the Rams to make it happen. The Lions will take on the Rams Sunday night (Jan. 14) at 8:15 p.m. ET at Ford Field. If they win, they’ll continue on their path to the Super Bowl.
“Stafford, what’d I say? You owe me this favor, bro. I was there for you when you won it. I was there for you,” Eminem said on a social media message that he shared on his pages, and the NFL shared, too. He added, “I was right there. I rapped for you, Stafford! Bro, I rapped for you! Can you just let us have this one? Just this one.”
Listen to the man, Stafford. Eminem is no stranger to football. He performed at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show with Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. I’m a rock and metal girl, but I loved that halftime show. Such a great mix of classic hip-hop names. Eminem has also rapped about football players many times, including Tom Brady, LaDainian Tomlinson, Troy Polamalu and more. Moreover, current Lions quarterback Jared Goff gushed over being a huge Eminem fan on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” last year, so that’s even more motivation to pull off a Lions victory during the Wild Card round.
