University of Michigan Student Scores Silver Medal in Synchronized Three-Meter Diving
Congratulations are in order for Andrew Capobianco and Michael Hixon, who scored silver in Tokyo in the men’s synchronized 3m springboard.
What’s extra special about this in is that Hixon is a University of Michigan student.
According to NBC News commentators during the game, Hixon took on a coaching position so he could use U-M’s pool during the pandemic. Commentators also stated that he kept his Olympic honors secret from his roommates in Ann Arbor.
Hixon also won the silver medal in the same event at the Olympics back in 2016, then with diving partner Sam Dorman. Watch the big dive below!
