This year, the Friday Fish Fry will be happening on the following dates: February 16th, February 23rd, March 1st, March 8th, March 15th, March 22nd, and will conclude on Good Friday, March 29th.
Traditional Fish & Chip dinners will be served from 4:30pm through 7:30pm on those dates. There will be true sit down/table service dining, a cash bar, and more at the newly remodeled St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit’s Scottish Kilgour Centre in Troy. It’s located at 2362 Rochester Road, just south of Metro Parkway at the Stevenson Road split. There will be bagpiping and Highland Dancing at the Fish Fry! Also, take-out service is available. However, you’ll probably want to stick around and experience the event in its entirety.
According to a press release, two-piece fish dinners start for only $13. You can also enjoy sides like mac & cheese, clam chowder, or dinner salads for just $5. What about dessert? Oh, yes. They’ll have that, too. Shortbread dessert packs will be only $2 each or $3 for two packs. Children under the age of 12 can enjoy meals for $7. Looking for more information? They are celebrating a major milestone this year, as they’re celebrating 175 years! That’s impressive. St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit President Chris Mackenzie is thankful for all of the support they’ve received over the years. Check out a video message from him below!

Michigan Has One of the Best Spring Break Destinations
Spring break always arrives at just the right time. It’s when the holiday cheer has totally worn off, and it’s also right when spring is around the corner but it’s not quite here yet. I remember loving spring break in school. But, even if you’re not in school or college anymore, why not take a fun spring break trip this year? If you have a family, all the more reason to do it. If you’re solo, that works, too. Thankfully, there are plenty of trendy, cheap spring break destinations available, and one is in Michigan.
If you want to get the most bang for your buck, as they say, stay close to home. It doesn’t have to be a staycation. But, why not travel to a town that you’ve never been to that’s within road trip distance? Of course, if you live in a cold climate, you might want to travel to a hot spot. The good news is that a lot of warm spring break destinations have great rates, because tourist is simply their business. So, if you go to a popular spring break spot, chances are they’ll have some good deals and be able to cut you a good deal due to just how many people who travel there each year.
The perfect spring break destination is really about getting away from it all. You want a place that fun and exciting. But, you also want a spot that really helps you break away from routine and, hopefully, your electronic devises. Another bonus is if you find a spring break destination near friends who you maybe haven’t seen in a while. It can be a really fun trip to find a central location and meet up with long-lost friends.
Read on for some trendy, cheap spring break destinations in the United States. Here’s hoping for a super fun spring vacation. Oh, these work for summer, too.
Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
