Today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day
National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day takes place today (April 30), with the goal to raise awareness for the many pets that are waiting in shelters for adoption.
Shelters and rescues are full of cats and dogs that need a forever home.
What better time than now to adopt or foster a pet? After all, a cat or dog would offer some welcomed company during these times of social distancing. Many shelters are offering curbside pickup, too.
For more information and to find a shelter near you, visit the Detroit Animal Care and Control’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/DetroitAnimalCareAndControl.
