It’s interesting to discover the richest city in a certain area. In Michigan, we have plenty of cities that have a very high median income, but one city stands above the rest when it comes to truly being the richest.
HomeSnacks.com has released an updated list of the richest cities in Michigan. “You either have to own Dunder-Mifflin, Hershey’s Chocolate, or be a descendant of President James Buchanan, to live in our top ten richest cities in Michigan for 2023,” they say in the article. Funny stuff.
In order to live comfortably in the cities that HomeSnacks.com deems are among the richest in Pennsylvania, you have to make an average of $90,000 a year. In many of these cities, the median income is much greatest. In addition, HomeSnacks.com adds, “Monetary wealth does make a city rich, but there are cities on our list that are both rich in the dollar as well as rich in amenities. Cities on our list like Perkasie provide the backdrop for fancy wine tasting, and cities like Camp Hill provide multiple outlets for the one activity that rich people like to do most: head to the spa.”
So, what’s No. 1 richest city in Michigan? East Grand Rapids is at the top of the tally for 2023. The city has a population of just 11,381, a median income of $145,000, an unemployment rate of 1.8% and a poverty rate of just 1.6%, according to the study. Those are pretty good statistics, and it goes without saying that there is a lot of money around the Grand Rapids area. Rounding out the top five richest cities in Michigan are Beverly Hills at No. 2, followed by Huntington Woods, Grosse Pointe Farms and Grosse Pointe Park. Find the full list of cities here.
