Motor City Car Crawl to Bring Cars, Food and Entertainment to Six Detroit Parks
A major event is being planned for downtown Detroit this August.
The Motor City Car Crawl (MC3) will feature new cars, trucks and SUVs filling six parks, as well as food trucks and and live entertainment.
The event will benefit various southeast Michigan charities in an effort to make up losses because of the cancelation of the North American International Auto Show’s annual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MC3 will take place from Thursday, Aug. 5, through Sunday, Aug. 8. A ticketed fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 7.
Participating parks will include Beacon Park, Cadillac Square, Grand Circus Park, Capitol Park, Campus Martius and Spirit Plaza.
Admission to the MC3 will be free, except for the Saturday night fundraiser. Details are forthcoming.
The Detroit Auto Show is on a two-year break due to the pandemic. Motor Bella, a smaller event, is scheduled for Sept. 21-26 at M1 Concourse in Pontiac. Organizers hope to hold the auto show at TCF Center in 2022.
