New Pandemic Emergency Program Takes $50 off Your Internet Bill
The federal government has started an emergency program that can take $50 off your monthly internet bill.
The $3.2 billion program is part of last year’s $900 billion relief package. Tens of millions of Americans are eligible for the discount.
Comcast, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T and more than 800 mobile and Internet providers are taking part in the program.
Your household is eligible for the discount if you have a child in the free or reduced-price school lunch program, are on food stamps, are part of Medicaid, or took a hit in income and earnings during the pandemic and took in up to $99,000 for single filers or $198,000 for joint filers.
There are other ways to be eligible, too. To find out if you’re eligible, head to getemergencybroadband.org.
