Just when there were signs that Perfecting Church’s building on 7 mile was finally looking almost complete… WXYZ’s Carolyn Clifford reported that the city of Detroit is suing Perfecting and hoping a judge will appoint a receiver.  Lead Corporation Counsel Conrad Mallett says that the city does not want the church, but rather a “reasonable plan” to get the church complete. Then if Perfecting cannot finish the church, the city could sell it with the proceeds going back to the church. (Source: WXYZ.com)

Perfecting is counter suing asking a judge to allow them to complete the project which already includes a 4,200-seat sanctuary, nursery, a chapel for weddings, and banquet space. So far, it’s been 20-years and 20 million dollars spent… paid by the church. But Perfecting has need for more financing. A representative for the church said that they had local banks and a major one lined up, but they pulled out of the agreements. However, they are once again “close to getting the financial backing.”
