How Safe Is Michigan? New Study Ranks Each U.S. State
There’s a lot of talk about safety these days, and people, obviously, strive to live in an area that is as safe as possible. With that in mind, the staff at WalletHub has researched the safest states in the U.S. and ranked each state, based on a variety of safety factors.
For the study, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 55 key safety indicators, using five different categories. “Our data set ranges from the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated to assaults per capita and the unemployment rate,” they state in the report.
The safest state in the U.S., according to WalletHub, is Vermont, followed by Maine, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Utah, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Washington and Maryland, to round out the top 10. The least safe state is Louisiana, followed by Mississippi and Texas.
So, where is Michigan? We’re not bad on the list, coming in at No. 17. I’ll take it!
