I had an amazing time at the Stellar Awards this past weekend. The first night I took my niece Haley hobnobbing with artists and movers and shakers at the MNRK Music Group. They were celebrating gospel artists, Todd Dulaney, James Fortune, Jonathan McReynolds and Josh Copland.

Friday morning was a press conference announcer the official launch of Stellar TV set to debut in the fourth quarter of this year.

Friday evening was the Stellar Pre-show and radio awards. I did not bring home the trophy but was excited to be of one of four nominees.

Saturday Evening was the taping of the Stellar Awards hosted by Jekalyn Carr and our very own Kierra Sheard Kelly. People came out in their finest!

Some of the top winners were Pastor Mike Jr. with an astonishing six Stellar Awards, CeCe Winans and Tamela Mann.

Randi Myles is the mid-day host on Detroit’s Praise Network. Randi’s mom knew she was destined to be in some form of entertainment when even as a small child, she would pretend a pencil was a microphone and sing and charm family and friends. Later she would sing in church and college choirs. However, it wasn’t until she attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts, that Ms. Myles would find her true voice. Randi enjoys writing about the city of Detroit, faith, and the community.
