This Michigan Mac and Cheese is Among the Best in America

Macaroni and cheese is always a great option when eating out, especially since I’m a vegetarian. If I’m dining at a steak house or somewhere that doesn’t specialize in vegetarian options, it’s a safe bet. But, even if you aren’t a vegetarian, macaroni and cheese can be a great lunch or dinner choice. Now, it appears one Michigan mac and cheese spot is among the best in America.

I say it’s a new favorite, because last year, the outlet Eat This, Not That! put together a study to determine the best mac and cheese in America. “Everyone loves a good plate of macaroni and cheese, but finding the perfect balance between pasta and cheese sauce can prove challenging,” they said. They did their list based on Yelp reviews.

As for last year, the outlet’s pick for the best cheesy goodness in Michigan was Union Woodshop in Clarkston. That is a great place. “If the mood strikes for some classic barbecue, Union Woodshop offers up sumptuous chicken, ribs, and the best mac and cheese in all of Michigan,” they said. Now, LoveFood.com has released their list of the best macaroni and cheese in America. They highlight one top spot in each state. In Michigan, they picked Slows Bar BQ in Detroit. “The cheesy Mac-N-Cheese at Slows Bar BQ in Detroit turns mac ‘n’ cheese is a real crowd favorite that’s not to be missed,” they explain. “It comes as a side dish and has an orange crust – evidence of how delightfully cheese-heavy it is.” That sounds delicious.
