According to BridgeDetroit.com, Pastor Kinloch outlined a plan that will build 10 grocery stores, add 10,000 new units of affordable housing, and provide further support for federally-funded job training and down payment assistance programs. He added that these goals can be reached if the next mayor empowers nonprofit foundations to work with community and neighborhood organizations. For his part, Kinloch says he is running because, “I am a son of Detroit and lifelong public servant who fully understands the issues, challenges and concerns of my neighbors in Detroit.” (KinlochForMayor.com)
In 1998, at 24 years of age, Pastor Kinloch accepted the call to Pastor at Triumph Church in Detroit, where membership was less than 50 people. Under his visionary leadership, Triumph now boasts over 40,000 members and holds 12 worship services per week throughout Michigan, in locations including Detroit, Southfield, Flint, Northville, Burton, and Harper Woods.
