Over the weekend, multi-award-winning actor Denzel Washington was baptized at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ in New York City. Additionally, Washington received his ministry license so the Hollywood powerhouse can perform ministerial duties. During the service, Denzel said, “In one week I turn 70… It took a while but I’m here.” Adding, “If [He] can do this for me, there’s nothing He can’t do for you. The sky literally is the limit.”

His wife Pauletta Washington was there to support his new journey and told her husband that she was proud of him and that he, as the head of their house, has set a great example for their now grown children. This comes on the heels of Washington telling the story of seeking God’s face in a prayer and actually seeing a face in the clouds directly afterward.

Randi Myles is the mid-day host on Detroit’s Praise Network. Randi’s mom knew she was destined to be in some form of entertainment when even as a small child, she would pretend a pencil was a microphone and sing and charm family and friends. Later she would sing in church and college choirs. However, it wasn’t until she attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts, that Ms. Myles would find her true voice. Randi enjoys writing about the city of Detroit, faith, and the community.
